ABOUT THE MAY 18 ARTICLE "WHO STOLE FORTIER HIGH SCHOOL?"

I received a more than slightly angry email from a guy who informed me that the article and information ("Who Stole Fortier High School?") came from his web site and he informed me he was "disappointed" that I had not attributed the information about this article. As I stated at the start of the article it was sent to me by a friend and I didn't actually know who wrote it. I do now. Here is the information that should have been there way back when.

The information about Johnson Controls was taken from:
http://www.tulanelink.com/tulanelink/johnsoncontrols_06a.htm, and the
text for "Who Stole Fortier High School" can be found at:
http://www.tulanelink.com/tulanelink/decision_03d.htm#lusher.

I apologize to anyone and everyone that this has ever happened to and who is upset about it. I try to attribute everything, but I'm not perfect I suppose.

I forget that not everyone has my lackadaisical attitude toward being sourced. I am more concerned about getting the information out than whether anyone says they got it from the Oread Daily. But that is me and its not the way most people feel.

By the way, to add to the confusion I just found at the website http://alobar.livejournal.com/1648795.html#cutid1 that the author of the article is, according to them, someone named Vaughn Morton (who is not the guy who emailed me). However, at that website there is a comment from the fellow who wrote me that reads,
" Only the first two paragraphs and the last paragraph of this essay were written by Vaughn Morton. The remainder was lifted verbatim (but without references) from my Web site without attribution. That is plain stealing, and I'd like to know who he is and what his email address is .

The work he plagiarized can be found at: http://www.tulanelink.com/tulanelink/decision_03d.htm#lusher.

Meanwhile, the Oread Daily should be returning next week.
